It’s been a crazy few days around here. And guess what? It’s still crazy as I’m spending a week at youth camp pouring in to some girls who just graduated High School. Actually, I love this type of crazy!
But as I looked at this week’s DO assignment in our Graffiti Summer, I vividly saw before me glimpses of how I saw people using what was in their hand to serve the last few days.
Using what was at hand:
I saw a woman blessed financially give to provide meals for 500 others.
I saw a friend, who was rushed, stop and spend time with a friend who was struggling.
I saw a women step out of her comfort zone with just a Bible and lead a study at the county jail.
I saw people on vacation stop off their desired destination to serve the homeless.
I saw three men give up their Saturday to use their BBQ pit to cook for 400 people.
I saw two women bless a family who have no car with a baby car-seat and then give them a ride.
I saw a little girl with a brush in her hand brush out her tired and weary mom’s hair.
What’s in my hand?
This was our weekend to Take it to the Streets and that we did.
I used my gift of coordination to bring together a meal for 400 people on the streets.
I used my gift of prayer to pray for a mom and her daughter who are struggling.
I used my gift of encouragement to look people in the eye and give them a positive word.
So, what’s in your hand?
There are so many ways we can serve others right where we are. God doesn’t want us waiting for our dream to be fulfilled before we serve others, He expects us to serve along the way to our dream. [tweet that]
What are some ways you’ve served this week?
