Confession time. One of my guilty pleasure’s is DVRing The Voice and watching it with the family. I love that show!
Have you seen the blind auditions? A person takes the stage and sings. They can only be voted on by their voice. The sound, tone, uniqueness, pitch and how their gift resonates with the audience. Nothing else matters (looks, dress, what qualifies them, or their life experiences), because the only thing speaking for them at that moment is their own voice.
Can you imagine taking a stage like that? Maybe you don’t sing, but what if you wrote, painted, sculpted or told a life story while the world had their back turned? Would your voice, the art that represents you, come across as unique? Would it be you through and through? Would you have more confidence to step out and be you if no one was watching?
I love this time of year in Texas. Bluebonnets are blooming everywhere. It is a sight to be seen with such majestic beauty. When I see the first patch of Bluebonnets, it’s as if they are speaking to me “spring is here, spring is here.” In a naturalistic kind of way, they have a voice.
But what about you? What is your voice?
If you were to stand up and talk, sing, paint, or sculpt, what would your voice’s uniqueness say? What passion and style would be conveyed? What is your heart dying to tell the world?
Oh I do hope you know, because you are The Voice!

I love how you used bluebonnets and describes their voice. I feel the same way. Spring is not spring without the beautiful bluebonnets. Even this morning long before dawn, a solitary bird sang such a complex song full of different notes, sometimes loudly in joy and other times quietly in peace. I wondered if this was a symphony all for me.

I love listening to the birds too. Their voices so distinctive. They sing with such precision it is such a treat.

Those are some good questions. Love the Bluebonnets. This is my first time watching The Voice. I thought the blind auditions were pretty interesting. I don’t like how the team members sing against each other. I don’t know what comes next but I am enjoying it but not as much as American Idol.

Debby – Keep watching, The Battle rounds are over. Next week it will be Live performances for votes. The cool thing is America get to vote and decide. Not sure if they are changing it up a tad because there are more contestants this coming season. I love watching how they grow from one challenge to the next.

I don’t watch The Voice or any other show like that. Usually. But, our youngest has a friend on American Idol this season- Elise Testone- so we are watching that. Anyway, if I was to get up no one would hear anything because I would freeze up immediately! I can’t do anything in front of a crowd! LOL

Spring is such a time for renewal and re-discovering your voice, isn’t it? Love this post and how it calls to my need to renew right now too.

You know how to get me movin’ don’t you, Alene. You’re right. I have a voice. May I use it for His glory and not my own. Striving to let Him take center stage!
