This is crazy, I know. But it’s only January 5th and I already feel like I’m behind the ball on this new year. I have put down some goals for 2011 and my key word is FOCUS. So seriously, how could I already feel behind?
As I’ve began my new Bible reading program for 2011, I’ve been reading through John this week out of the Message version. I love how John reminds us that the Word was first. What a great reminder to start the year with?
I think sometimes we can get so set on running after the goals we set that we forget the reason for our eagerness. We forget that the Word, Jesus, is first and always has been. “He was in the world, the world was there through him, and yet the world didn’t even notice.” Aye Yei Yei!!!
I’m so thankful for those words, as they’ve reminded me to go after those goals I’ve set, but still be in the moment.
As we plunge ahead this upcoming year, may we continually to be in the moment and take NOTICE. Take notice of how Jesus answers our prayers. Take notice of who Jesus puts in our paths. Take notice of all that he has blessed us with. Take notice to make Him first.
Goodness, I think I need to add another goal to my list: Notice daily that I need to stop and take notice!
Amen, sister! May we all slow down in our everyday busyness to NOTICE all the glories of the Lord around us… thanks for the word "notice"…
I'll add the action of "notice" to my 2011 goal for the year of "GIVING"… I'll be sure to give God not only my year, but more everyday "notice". Thanks, Alene!!!

Being in the moment is something that I constantly need to be working on. I'm prone to thinking so far ahead that I miss the now.
