After six months of “stopping for the one“, if you would have asked me if there was any chance my heart could get more messed up, I’m pretty sure I would have said “no way!!”
But somewhere in the last months, my wrecked heart has been rearranged and smashed even more. It’s as if my whole heart has been flipped-over and what I use to think important no longer measures up.
I don’t know if your heart has ever been smashed, turned-over and rearranged, but you’d know it if it has. Being wrecked is definitely a defining moment where your world turns upside down.
What turns you upside-down?
Maybe you took a mission trip that messed with you.
Maybe you rode into the inner city of your own town.
Maybe you witnessed a drive-by shooting.
Maybe you were once homeless yourself.
Or maybe you visited the other side of the bridge (watch this amazing video)

When a Broken World Slams into Your Comfortable Life
There are so many ways God can come in and rearrange our heart. And the funny thing is while you are undone when your heart is wrecked, it’s a freeing feeling. It’s not like having your physical home wrecked where you’d run around shouting “the walls are tumbling! this place is a mess! or this place is ruined!” Rather when you’re wrecked and ruined, you feel so alive. It’s a loud notion screaming in your heart of what is really important and what’s not.
Here’s a few stories of people and happenstances that have wrecked me:
– it wasn’t a pretty step, but a step
– entering the strip club: while my heart pounded my life was changed

I go through seasons where I pray every day for my heart to be turned upside down. and then the season comes where I’m praying for it to be made whole again…oh this refinement process is hard! And I love it.
Girl, do you realize how long you’ve made my need-to-read list? I’m working my way through! And this one is on it…
