I’m halfway through this year with Stop for the One Tuesday. My goal, when I began, was to focus on stopping for those in need, with a side note of encouragement to spur you on to do the same.
While I’ve challenged myself to step out and let God use me to bless others with the love of Christ, (read the stories here) I have heard you —
*I could never do that
*How would I get started
*I don’t have an area like that in my town
and the list goes on and on.
Oh friend, I had all those questions and more when I started. I totally understand, but the day came when I had to step out and act on what was stirring in my heart.
I’m overwhelmed this week as I think back to what God has done in 1/2 a year with this south Texas girl who was scared to death to move out of her comfort zone. I’ve stretched myself beyond what I thought I could, met people, and served them. And I’m here to tell you 25 weeks later, I’ve been the one blessed and changed. And while I could live with these incredible memories, God is not finished.
Can you believe He is challenging me to up my game?
God is moving. He’s breathing a newness into my soul. He is connecting dots and lining up circumstances. Basically, God is showing Himself off to me and I am scared. I want someone to run and hide behind, yet I keep getting thrown right in the midst of God and His works. I want someone else to lead. I want all the answers.
Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t reveal all the answers before we step out? Hmmmm, I have! If He gave you and I the whole picture before hand, we would surely sit paralyzed in fear.
Yep, my knees are knocking already. However, God doesn’t expect us to know everything before we obey — He just expects us to obey!
Is there an area of your life where God is quietly nudging you to step out and do something?
Let’s step out together and watch the last half of 2012 blow up with God’s presence everywhere. He is moving. I want you and I to be a part of His crazy goodness.
I’ll share more soon with ways you can be involved.

May 2012 be the year we step into His path and be a part of His great work!
This week I’ll be conquering POSSESSIONS for my Summer of 7 challenge.
I tackled this area of excessiveness about 9 months ago when we remodeled our home. Anything that wasn’t used and collected dust was given away. Can you believe we gave away a garage full of possessions and never missed a one? That’s crazy!
So, what I will focus on this week is rounding up possessions for others. I need possessions to take to the streets, because so many are without.
This will be interesting, as I mentioned above, because I have no clue as to what I’m doing. You just gotta love an adventure . . .
