When was the last time you were blessed by somebody? Out of the blue, you weren’t expecting it, and a gift appeared.
Beginning “stop for the one” back in January, I’ve made stops for individuals, groups, families, and for rest. What I’ve never written was when somebody “stopped for me.”
I recently took three days to be away and spend time with God. It was the perfect place. A condo on the beach, a fresh water swimming pool, and a beautiful room. It was relaxing and if you are anything like me – when you’re at the beach you can breathe!
I was soaking God in and breathing Him out.
Determined to put everything in perspective and make God my Everything again, I was enjoying each moment. Waking up early, I’d stroll to the pool to soak up God’s sun-rays that were perfectly placed for my days away. I was chugging bottles of water and counted them as but the Living Water that would nourish my soul.
Relaxing in the cool water of the pool one afternoon, I look up and there’s a man walking toward me with a plate of food. I watch him as he walks up to where I am and hands the plate to me saying, “I do this all the time. Please enjoy!”
As I took the plate of hot fresh food, he turned and walked away. I was left there starring at the deliciously smelling plate of fresh BBQ’ed chicken and sides.
He blessed me by noticing.
Was I blessed because I was starving? No. I was a little hungry, but I was more taken back that a man I did not know would stop and bless me with freshly grilled chicken. He took the time to stop and notice my being. That I existed. That I had needs, even though I hadn’t voiced them.
Being blessed from the most unlikely always refreshes and renews our hearts in mankind. Last summer I wrote about how my girls and I were Blessed from the Most Unlikely.
I hope you continue to stop for others. Stop when they need help, stop when they are struggling, and stop just for the sake of blessing another.
It still amazes me what God can do when we stop to acknowledge another.
Share a moment when someone stopped for you.

It is so different being on the receiving end. I imagine it is motivation to press on and do the same for others because you know first hand how much you appreciated it. How wonderful!

You capture it perfectly. Great motivation to press on . . thanks!

{Melinda} I love things like that. To me, it’s not just the person who has noticed me, it is God. And that the God of the universe notices me still blows my socks off!

Oh my stars — YES that the God of the universe notices us . . . how much more cooler can that be? I’m afraid though that I forget that TRUTH as I go about my days. Thanks – as I needed to remember today!
