“Be still, and know that I am God”. Psalm 46:10
We live in such a busy society. We run all day long from dropping kids off at school, to work, to meetings and lunch appointments. We run to work and school and then from activity to activity in the evenings. Busy, busy, busy! Our daily checklists cry out, do, do, do!
Henry Blackaby writes in Experiencing God, “I think God is crying out and shouting to us, ‘Don’t just do something. Stand there! Enter into a love relationship with Me. Get to know Me. Adjust your life to Me. Let Me love you and reveal Myself to you.’”
I love how Psalm 46:10 in The Message speaks to us, “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at Me, your High God, above politics, above everything.”
Today is a great day to step out of the rat race. Linger in God’s word more than you linger over political issues in the newspaper or notes for your board meeting. Soak up God’s word and His presence more than you breathe in your favorite shows.
Surely, today is the day to be determined to be still and come to know God above everything.

I was just reading Luke 1:80 and realized that's what John did to get close to God. We need to get away from the things and spend time with Him. Good post.

I have a friend who is going to do the Emmaus Walk in a couple of weeks. I was thinking that might be a good thing for me to do. A forced/planned time of introspection and contemplation.

Just recently I made a post on my blog very similar. That Jesus just wants to spend time with us. Can't even remember the title right now. LOL Been writing 2 articles a day,
However I get the sense that God is calling us closer to Himself!
Great Post!
Keep up the good work!
