Walking in to the gym, I was dreading the hour ahead. I’m not your “let’s get sweaty and don’t you love to feel the burn” kind of girl. Just saying . . .
I climbed on the treadmill and up walked a trainer. This is never a really good sign. I didn’t care to be pushed, I just wanted to do my time and be on about my business.
He said questioningly, “Rescue is Coming?”
It threw me off guard for a minute. I had forgot I had worn my “rescue is coming” t-shirt from the Exodus Road that morning. All the sudden I had a burst of energy and could have talked to him about the plight of human trafficking and The Exodus Road for hours.
But clients were calling him and sweat was beginning to drip in my eyes. As he left, my mind was quickly drawn to those who are trafficked.
Can you imagine being one of them waiting for a rescue?
Sold by uncles and those closest to them, girls are snatched from society. They are trapped, beaten, tortured, and many times forgotten about. Through the schemes of man many a young girl and boy end up in brothels.
