Do you ever feel like you’ve lost your way? Maybe it’s your writing voice, singing melody, or daily agenda to a call.
Seasons come and seasons go and invariably at the most unwanted time you’ll feel lost. You’ll feel like you don’t know where you are going and want to stop. But the feeling to stop or quit is not the answer.
Waiting and trusting is. Being still goes against the very nature of who we are, but trusting there is an answer coming is vital.
Do we just sit still and do nothing while we wait?
No. We continue to sing. We continue to carry on. A friend recently gave me these words and maybe you need them today,
A bird does not sing because he has an answer. He sings because he has a song.”
Sing the song within you today, and trust the answer is coming!

Hi Alene,
I love the bird analogy. Today I rechecked your RSS feed and was able to sign you up in my Google Reader.
Positively Alene says
Thanks, Laura! Great to know the feeds are working well. I had to step away from the blog a few days and get some deadlines done. Glad I’m back in bloggy land today. Blessings.
Charina @ Pondered Thoughts says
Love the bird quote friend. Yes, I will sing with you today and everyday that I have a song even if I don’t have the answer :) Guess what, I blogged about the “No”.
Positively Alene says
Glad you are singing along with me. Love, love, love your post on “no”! I needed that girl.
Charina @ Pondered Thoughts says
Thank you Alene! Happy Valentines to you friend.

Oh, Alene, this resonated deep within me. Beautiful encouragement. Yes, I will strive to keep singing even when I cannot find my voice. Thank you!
All for Him,

Nikki – thanks. I’m beginning to learn that we will find our voice the more we sing. sign it out, girl! Blessings.

thanks for visiting my blog. you know, i find that if i can just steal a few minutes away on the piano to play and sing and pour out my heart in worship… well, then perspective comes. the Holy Spirit as well. i love that quote you shared. i will tuck that one away for later to encourage myself with right when i need it!
Positively Alene says
Charis – yes, yes. I love that time of playing and singing and then somewhere out of nowhere there God is! Sing and play today girl – God is good!

Wow! I can not tell you how much I needed this today! I am stuck on something I’m writing and I have a Tuesday deadline. I am writing my memoirs, but I’m not sure how much to tell, or how to tell it. I am not interested in exposing others, but I feel strongly that God has asked me to tell the whole story (according to Psalm 40) in the Message. The whole story does bring Him so much glory. I said all of that to say that I probably need to sing just because I have a song today…not because I have all of the answers. Thank you for your obedience.
kd sullivan says
Oops I forgot to hit the notify button! :D
Positively Alene says
kd – so thankful this little post found it’s way to your heart today. I hope you are trusting in the final words to write. They will come – just keep writing and singing while you write. Or better yet, just let your writing be the song you sing. Tell the story and I can’t wait to read it and be inspired by God’s bigness through you. Blessings!
Michele @ A Life Surrendered says
I loved this today… I am hopping all over positivelyalene.com today. I hope I get more time to read more… I am really inspired…
“…He sings because he has a song.”
If God never did another thing for me… He has already given me everything when He gave me Jesus… This is what this line makes me think of… despite everything I perceive as negative… I will sing a song of Praise because He is enough!
Blessings to you and only by His grace…
Positively Alene says
Michele – thank you for your encouraging words. Singing the song of His praise and what He has done is a total trust in what He will do. Great comment my friend. Blessings.

“Being still goes against the very nature of who we are, but trusting there is an answer coming is vital.” Oh, this is so true. Being still is so hard! Yet, oftentimes, that is the very thing we are called to do. Be still. And know, and trust, that He is God, and He’s got everything under control.
Beautiful post. I’m so glad to find your blog via 5MF!
Positively Alene says
Girl – I’m learning about being still. I’m squirming, I’m wiggling, I’m itching to move, yet I’m trying to be still and wait and trust! Thankfully, our Lord is the Lord who has it all under control – I know I only make a mess when I strive to take the reins. Blessings.

Thanks for your encouragement. Trusting His plan is easier when you trust His heart. I’m stretching myself here. Blessings.

Love this! We do need to just keep pushing on even when things get rough. I like to dwell on the bad a little too much but I really should be focusing on the good. There is so much good in all of our lives!
Positively Alene says
Girl – there is so much goooood in all our lives. We are so blessed and you are so correct to realize we just need to focus and look for that. That is what will wash away the negative and emptiness we feel at times!
