Saturday’s. They just feel like they were made for sunshine. Warm, sun beaming down on you, throw your sunroof open Saturday’s.
While frigid temperatures and wind howl through most of the states, I think we all need to remember how Saturday’s and sunshine feel. My soul comes alive when the two collide and I hope to bring your soul alive by sharing the two.
When I left home to live in Germany for three years, it was sunny, warm, and 80 in October. I didn’t see sunshine again until May. Oh how my soul thirst for sun. I was a cranky mess. Truthfully, I think all the whole country was in need of a bit of sunshine. Sun brings warmth not only to the days, but to friendships.
Here’s a little sunshine for your Saturday:
As I gathered my belongings along the shore before the front blew in, surfers were heading out to the waves. The warmth and cool breeze of the day were relaxing. As we weather the cold, I’m going to remember that feeling and enjoy the warmth.
One great thing about the south is that when we hit a cold patch it doesn’t last long. There’s not ice to scrape or snow to shovel. It’s a different way of winter down here. If you’d love to sneak away to some warmer climate airs, you should come visit us. (link to 4 of our rental property here)
I might be part bear because I long to hibernate on these cold days. But while we all want to hunker down and pull quilts over our heads to stay warm, let’s remember there is still peace that comes in the early morning.
