I seem to amuse my family quite often. At least I know, as a mom, I bring a little laughter to their days. This past weekend we had the joy of attending our youngest daughter’s High School pep rally as part of the Homecoming festivities. She was part of the Homecoming court, so the whole family was there to capture the moment.
After a day of running errands and meeting with people I made it to the school just in time. And if you know me I was seriously going to capture this moment with my camera and the biggest lens I had.
Bare with me. Amazingly, there is a point to this story! haha
The family had already entered the gym and I stayed behind to “get that cool shot”. I finally headed into the gym and found them. They had decided to sit about halfway up the bleachers, so I headed up to grab my seat.
About three steps up my high heel (maybe not appropriate but I had been running all day, remember?) got caught in a very small crack in the step and . . . you guessed it! A crazy Alene moment happened. I toppled over and of course, the family saw my graceful moves. They were howling when I finally got to my seat — I was just fretting and hoping my gracefulness didn’t ruin my camera.
So the point to this story is . . . as you’re running through life, watch your every step closely. Pay attention to even those smallest cracks that slip up on you as you journey through life, because in the end and in the blink of an eye it doesn’t take much to topple you over.

this was so funny – thanks for making me laugh. I saw it all in instant replay :) were you wearing those shoes pictured here? I love them – so oddly cool.
I have done the same gymnastic tricks when a crack evades my watchful eye. It always happens with a whole crowd of onlookers!
blessings for a better day :)

Now that is a profound statement and one that I need to remember Alene! Pay attention to even those smallest cracks that slip up on you! You are so right! Those are the ones that can be the downfall of us!
Love ya sister!

"God uses tasks to get people done"
In my case, the 'task' is raising children. Love that perspective!!!
May the peace of Christ rest upon you!
