Make today the day you quit procrastinating and JUMP!
JUMP
I love Peter, but that poor man sure gets a bad rap. Yes, he jumped out of the boat and began to sink after a few steps. But to all those who like to label Peter with doubt and fear, I say “HEY, at least he JUMPED!”
Too many times we find ourselves procrastinating, analyzing, and even waiting for perfect circumstances. But today let’s challenge ourselves to be more like Peter. Let’s jump out of the boat in faith!
Yes, we just might fail after a few steps. But I’ve come to the realization that God can not direct and guide you as long as you are stationary! <—tweet that! He needs you jumping, stepping out, and moving where He nudges.
He needs you to be brave!

Glad to meet another Peter lover. I’m most like him too. I will definitely have to check out that book. JUMPing with you.

So true. God does not invite us to jump to necessarily improve out lives, or make us instantly more happy and comfortable. More like training us up in the faith. Peter started to sink, denied Jesus, but look what he is up to in Acts!
Cheers,
Leah

Such a great reminder that even our failures make us stronger for the Lord, if we but allow Him to strengthen our life. Each struggle we have increases our faith if we wrestled through it with grace.

..and if, in our jumping, we cut off a few Roman ears….thankful that Jesus is there with us to bring healing. :) hehe (sorry…had to!) I like it!

Cracking up!!! But oh so true.

You know, one thing you rarely hear talked about is that although Peter sank and had to be rescued by Jesus, they still had to WALK back to the boat. Such a cool thought that even though he was brave, jumped, sank, his faith was restored and he walked back to the boat. :) Here from FMF. Have a great weekend!

That’s what I love — Jesus just wants us to jump. Too many of us sit idly thinking “what if I mess up, what if I can’t do this?” Jesus doesn’t care. He’s there to catch us. We just have to do our part and jump!!

I agree! At least he jumped. That took some courage!

Dear Alene
Yes, poor Peter was quite an impulsive guy, but at least he jumped! I can just imagine how he must have felt when he sank!!! I think we all sink a few times before we learn to keep our eyes fixed on our Lord.

Love it…you are so right. At least he jumped. May we all be that courageous! Blessings, friend! :)

There is so much I love about Peter. So many lessons to be learned from him. The biggest is his step out of the boat purely because he wanted to move closer to Jesus. Only when he took his eyes away from Jesus did he begin to sink. Even then Jesus didn’t condemn him, but instead reached out His hand. Such incredible encouragement in that story. Thanks for the reminder today. Blessings.

I’m so enjoying what everyone is sharing on Lisa’s “jump” prompt. Love what you shared on how at least Peter jumped. Beautiful! Thought I’d share with you a recent post I wrote as my heart prepares for Guatemala. Hope you don’t mind me sharing. http://withlove-simplybeth.blogspot.com/2013/04/a-softened-heart-towards-guatemala.html Blessings to you!
