I arrived in San Antone just in time to swing by the airport and meet my ministry partner Ginger Moore, VP at Speaking Thru Me Ministries (STMM). What a treat! I felt like I already knew her as we visited for hours before the Living Proof and Siesta Fiesta event started.
“You must be another Leigh Gray!” Those were my welcoming words to the Siesta Fiesta. Not so perfect timing, ha!
It was time I explained. My name was Alene and I’m from Texas not Tennessee. Leigh had an accident days before the event and with agreement from all parties I was to take on her identity and use her tickets all weekend. I was found out upon arrival! (check Leigh’s blog and please pray for her recovery)
As I walked in I was greeted by Shonda with a warm hug and smile! Perfect timing! How cool to have blogging buddies and finally meet them in person. Shonda, love ya girl – can’t wait to work with you at the Living the Life Conference in Corpus.
The next WOW was meeting Leah! Another ministry partner at STMM. She was more precious than in blogland. Once again I felt I had known her forever. It is really a small world these days.
Participating in the Siesta Fiesta events was a hoot. Meeting girlfriends from all over the US was a huge blessing. The hilarious thing was we knew each other by our blogging names not our real names! Lopsided Halo, Crown Laid Down, Jenny Hope, The Simple Wife. Crack me up!!
As we arrived Saturday morning we had an opportunity to meet Amanda Moore Jones, Beth’s daughter. What a pleasure! Amanda is expecting their second and her husband, Curtis is booked to speak at the STMM conference in the Fall of 2009.
Spending two hours in a special Q&A session with Beth and her girls was definitely perfect timing. There were group pictures, girl talk (hair, make-up, boobs, daily schedules, babies, etc.) and lots of laughs. How I wish you all could have been there!
Seriously, I’m processing each and every amazing moment of the weekend. It was perfect timing!

Hi Alene!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog.
Wow! In all of my blog hopping reading about the Siesta Fiesta, it’s clear that there was a lot of Siesta love going around. It must have been hard to say goodbye. But….thanks to the internet, everyone can keep in touch.
Through all of this, I met a sweet Siesta that only lives 10 miles from me. We have made contact and plan on doing lunch very soon. Oh, this is all so much fun!
Blessings!

What a joy to read about your time at the conference. I wish I could have been there. Reading about it is the next best thing though. We were so blessed in Kansas City to see Beth’s latest simulcast. I can’t imagine how wonderful the conference was, not to mention meeting all your blog friends.
I am so happy for you!
Nancy
PS-It was great to visit your blog. See you again soon.
