After yesterday’s post on Me & My Blog, I got to thinking about all the incredible ways I’ve been able to encouarage and uplift others through this little ol’ blog of mine. God has touched people’s hearts here, despite my limited knowledge of English, grammar, or blogging. But the unique thing though is none of this would be possible if it were not for words.
Words written.
Ideas expressed.
Thoughts captured.
Challenges given.
Just plain words. We are born with a voice and we begin to vocalize at a early age. Then when we begin school without much thought we learn to write those words. It’s sad we don’t give our words more attention, but we take them mostly for granted.
However, words are powerful.
Words encourage or destroy.
Words give life or death.
Words are small or BIG.
Words inspire or deflate.
Words challenge or suffocate.
Words are loud or soft.
Words are loving or hateful.
I want to live determined to leave behind words that give life, encouragement and blessings.
I’m thankful I have words to write and express that can become blessings others.

Wow. I love words. I have written glossaries for a small publishing company. Words should be chosen carefully with a full understanding of their meaning.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, ° (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

What a neat post!! I pray that my words have been a source of encouragement to those who visit my website and also those who hear me speak at events. I so want them to be.

Amy – whoa girl! I'm totally impressed. You wrote glossaries. Yipes – makes me nervous. :) You are so right though, the WORD is the best word. Blessings friend.

Hi Alene,
Did i read your blog correctly when you mentioned limited knowledge of English? Is English your second language because you sure don't sound like it! Thanks for the link on my blog by the way. It's given me lots to think about.
Oh, also, I was going to mention that Nick isn't as involved with homeless ministry as I think you are. Our church just has this program (with a few other organizations) where we provide a meal and a place to sleep during the long, winter months here where you can volunteer. Our small groups at church were looking for a way to help our community so we are spending a couple Wednesday nights where we would normally meet together to go out and help with this ministry :)

Words are incredibly powerful. They can either be a positive force or a negative force. Thanks for the gentle reminder how important our words really are.
