With a new heart I’m learning that being caught up in my own way of doing things, routine, goals, and importance does not serve anyone else. Oh that’s such a sad thing, because . . . to help others, I first have to get over myself. <——- Tweet that here!
That thought is enough to make this south Texas girl want to throw a pity-party ‘cuz I like it when it’s all about me . . . just sayin’! Don’t you?
This week I’m being stretched even further to see the needs of others and get my eyes off myself.
First, I’m so excited that this Saturday I will be with Debra George learning how to take this kindness and Jesus to the streets. Learning will be the fun part! Coming home and implementing it here in my city will be . . . hmmmmmmm, the hard part!
Second, I’ll be partnering with a few other bloggers and INVITING YOU along for the last-half-of-the-year to participate in Acts of Kindness once a month. What is it you ask? It’s an adventure where you will have to step out of your comfort zone, but you will be blessed beyond measure. We will share our Acts of Kindness every month for the next 6 months. You will be able to link up here and share your favorite Acts of Kindness on the 2nd Friday of every month. That means the link up for your first month goes up this Friday, the 13th. We will focus our kindness towards a stranger this month, be anonymous if you’d like.
Copied from my friend Find Your Sparkle who is the inspiration for Acts of Kindness:
The beauty of doing good is that it helps others and you at the same time. It is a true win-win. You just can’t help others without helping yourself in the process. If you want to make a big improvement in your life, then get out there and help someone else.
Need ideas to spark an interest in stopping for another to show kindness, maybe this site will help your imagine of different ways to serve others. Also, don’t forget about my gift-card idea.
Ssssssssshhhhh – want to know a secret? Tomorrow here at the blog, registration for our new online Bible study begins! The first 15 to sign up are going to get to invite a friend for FREE! Ooooh weeee – this study is going to be a good one.
Remember – acts of kindness link goes up Friday. And boy do I have a story to tell! I can’t wait to be inspired by your story. Oh yes, stories inspire and propel us to be more!
Linked up with Shanda at On Your Heart.
