Aside from freaking out and feeling the pressure of getting started, I’m ascared to lay out my rules (oh wait, I hate that word because it makes me want to break them) for the next 7 days. So here are my plans for my week of mutiny on foods.
1. Go to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday to stock up for the week of 7 foods.
REASON: I’ve been flirting with eating Paleo and this was suggested by a friend for the most nutritious food.
2. I can have black coffee up to noon.
REASON: I can not handle a mutiny without caffeine — I can’t even handle life without it. Jen’s council of girlfriends gave permission for a few things and so my counsil, hubby, gladly gives permission for black coffee before noon. Why only black coffee? Because I know me, remember I’m a cheater so I would be running out the door for a Starbucks I’m sure.
3. Drink only water after noon.
REASON: To wash down a morning full of caffeine. just sayin’
4. Stick to ONLY the foods listed below.
— eggs
–leafy greens (spinach and lettuce)
–squash (all varieties)
–tomatoes (any kind)
–apples (the good juicy kind)
–watermelon (‘cuz they are in season and I looooove them)
–chicken (the bird-like kind, not the kind typing out this post)
REASON: There’s a variety among those 7 foods listed, which actually makes it more than 7 foods. I can hear your sneers — Cheater! Cheater! But I wanted something more sustainable for a long term mutiny, not just for 7 days.
5. For OTHERS: Go through pantry and give away what is not being used.
REASON: Excessiveness has to go. There are others out there who can use my stored up excessiveness!

you go! i wouldn’t, couldn’t, shouldn’t dare to drink my coffee without creamer. that makes me a double cheater, i suppose.
i can’t do food until after my vacation. East coast seafood will not be denied. i’m sure that says something about my heart, but since i can only indulge once every two years. . . yeah, i’m indulging. Jesus ate fish, right???

That’s why I had to say BLACK coffee. I knew if I gave me self an out I’d so be at Starbucks. There I get Cinnamon Dolce Latte – skinny of course cuz I’m that good. LOL

I just received the book. I saw this challenge on your blog and some others and thought, “I must read this book”. With fear and trembling I will be reading, although not yet ready to join in. Daughter getting married in 3 weeks so that is a challenge in and of itself. But, I will be following your journey and gaining strength for my own!

Good choices on the food items Alene. I read this and thought..”I could live with these!” And so I will ! I’m joining the mutiny against excess foods! I’m personalizing this to also suit my mutiny against anything hot that may or may not be the cause of Hot flashes so I’ll be dropping the coffee.
