So my motto for this year has been “No sloppy living!”
I have to confess I forgot about that motto over the summer. It was too much fun lazin’ by the pool with friends and havin’ late night girl time with a bowl of ice cream. Think about it – 2009 is only 120 days away! Yikes!
So I’m back in the groove. Trying something new!
I’m getting up between 5-5:30am to get a jump on my day. (I love it!)
God has been so gracious to wake me up singing His praises over me.
I have my prayer and quiet time early.
It’s all good except I’m sure I look a fright at that hour when I see Hubby out the door. (Sorry Hubs)
Oh yeah, I’m using a new facial cleansing system.
And I’m pondering that hair color.
Here’s the biggie!
I’m working out.
Drinking water by the bottles.
I’m writing every spare moment I get.
And I’m dog tired and falling asleep by 10pm. (I hate this!)
I think before long Hubby won’t even recognize me. Shoot, I might not even recognize myself. I’ve never been an early riser. Oh, I do love my late nights. That darn motto!
“You’ll never change, until you change!” I heard that quote months ago on a Will and Grace Show and it is so true. I’m singing that Brady Bunch song. You know the one — come sing along. “When it’s time to change, you have to rearrange – who you are and what you want to be.” Don’t forget the best part now — “Sha na na na na na na na na. Sha na na na na!”
So . . . Here’s to a change and NSL!
I’m amazed I’ve done well for four days! Yes, you can laugh!!! I am.
How are your 2008 goals coming? Do you remember what they are? Just checkin’!
Sha na na na na ~

Thank you for visiting my blog, and thank you for the encouragement! I wish we were still stationed in Abilene, so I could attend your conference. It looks like a great time. Off to check out more of your blog!

Back in May I started getting up at 5 a.m. to go running before my husband left for work. It took my body a good two weeks to adjust to getting up so early (I’m a night owl too). But eventually I really loved it. I’d get home at 6 a.m. and do my Bible study. It was awesome. I had a nice hour/hour and a half before the kids got up, too. Keep going! You will get used to waking up and it’s so much healthier to go to bed earlier :)
Now that it’s so dark, I don’t get up early. But right after I drop the boys off at the bus stop, I take Emily for a very long walk in the stroller. It’s not as intense as running, but my knees are thanking me for it.

OH thank you for this post. I re-visited my goals after seeing the Siesta Fiesta photos. I’ve been doing good over the past four days too but I was just about to yield to temptation when I read this post.
Thank You Lord for leading me and letting me hear from You.
NSL for me either.
Love that photo.

You are quite the motivator! Well almost…:)
I have a terrible time going to bed before midnight these days and I’m not especially fond of mornings, although I did get up at 8:00 this morning. Only what, 4 hours after you. :)
I love what you’re doing and it really is making me think. Keep us posted on the progress. :D

Several months back I started looking at the calendar and thought about my 30th class reunion and really, really wanted to lose about 20 pounds. Plus, just for my health in general I needed to discipline myself in certain areas. I was doing really well at first getting on the treadmill every morning, eating oatmeal (which I don’t like) and trying to eat smaller portions. I did well for a while and then I went to NYC in March….another vacation in July….excuses, excuses….
I really need to be more disciplined about exercise.
I’ll let you know how it’s going. ;)
Thanks for the comments on my blog. I love San Antonio so much.
Every part of it was fantastic. I do with I’d had a chance to get acquainted with more siestas.
We’ll definitely have to have another one.
Have a safe holiday.
Love,
Valerie

Hi friend,
If that face cream works, let me know what kind it is cuz I need a miracle, let me tell you. Old age is setting in.
I’m good about the going to bed and getting up part. The thing I have been working on is spending less time reading blogs. Good grief you can really get carried away with it.
Love ya,
Leah
