This experimental challenge to step out of my comfort zone is going to be just that – experimental! Six weeks of the unknown.
God has already been wrecking me, but I think this summer it’s fixing to get up close and a little personal. Visualize me gasping!! I’m just a wee bit nervous.
It’s time though — time for you and I to step over our fears for the sake of — OTHERS! Now that excites me. We each live in a whole city full of OTHERS! They are here, there and everywhere.
Leaving my comfort zone for the sake of others.
Over the past two years my heart has been wrenched in many ways as I’ve reached out to those who have very little, but I have so much more to discover, to experience. In this crazy adventure of Graffiti Summer, I want the focus to be about others. That will be my aim and my goal.
So what does my schedule and strategy look like?
1. I will be following the book Graffiti and the FREE Graffiti Study and Do.
REASON: I need a step-by-step approach. Plus, I’m ready to see how my journey parallels the life of Moses. I will spend a lot of time on the DO. I think many of us have used studies as a way to avoid the DO portion for too long.
2. I will be tackling each of the 6 sections one week at a time beginning June 3rd — mercy that’s THIS Monday.
REASON: I will need extra prayers at church to fulfill this commitment. Just saying’ I’ll probably need you praying for me too! A whole lot.
3. I will blog and allow you in on my adventure a few times a week.
REASON: I need some accountability, because remember I like my comfort zone. So promise you won’t be judgin’!
4. I will have a podcast lesson, STUDY AND DO specifics, and a unique link-up for that lesson ready each Monday.
REASON: Seriously, who plans six-weeks out and still follows through? If it is you, please let me know. But YOWZY, that means I better get busy.
I think that gets me and you on track for now. I’ve been asked a few times how those who don’t have a blog can participate. What you do is comment below or link up a Facebook post! Or join the Facebook community where there are many others waiting to cheer you on.
So, today you can lay out your strategy as to what your Graffiti Summer will look like in the comments. I’m ready to take on this challenge of stepping out for others. Are you?
