It might be a drought here in south Texas, but God has decided it’s growing time for me. Don’t you just love it when you get comfortable and then you are forced into a personal or spiritual growth mode? Well, I don’t so much!
This season of growth for me is about increasing my capacity. It’s a season of stretching beyond the boundaries I had set and making a bigger impact with my time. I’m learning how to be mindful of each moment and what is important, as well as staying focused on those priorities.
I knew this would be a challenge, so I prayed for a pruning. I’ve experienced that before and figured I could handle that once again. But God just gently whispered the pruning had already taken place and now was the time for me to enjoy this season of growth. Enjoy?? Seriously. Growing is work. Stretching my capacity to further my boundaries isn’t a walk in the park.
So, while it is scorching hot this summer God is growing me like it’s early spring. I can’t wait to see what the finished blossom will look like as I sprout one petal at time. I know it will be grand. Anything by God’s design is beautiful!
How are you growing these hot days of summer?
