Things have been so crazy around here that our poor aquariums did not get their biweekly cleaning. Don’t ask me when they were last cleaned, because I couldn’t tell you!
I did notice that the fish seemed lethargic, sluggish and sad the more deprived and neglected their living environment became. I can actually say the same about myself. The more disorderly, disarrayed, and dysfunctional my living quarters become the more it negatively influences the rest of my life.
Maybe you notice the same in your spiritual life – the more apathetic, withdrawn and callous you become about your spiritual being the more it negatively influences the rest of your life.
My fish taught me that clean and orderly environments do make a huge difference to our outlook on life. Let’s make this Monday the day we clean up our aquariums, homes and spiritual lives so we’ll have brighter outlooks on life. A clean spiritual home will help us be energetic, peaceful, and perky!
Who knew there were amazing lessons waiting to be learned from fish!

Great lesson here today and I can so relate. I know that when my house is really messy it stresses me out! I need to de-clutter more than just clean.
Funny…I also used a fish in my blogpost today.
God bless!

I am always inspired to de-clutter my home when I go into a home that is neat and without too much in the way of knick knacks sitting around gathering dust. Same is true of spending time with Christians friends. Iron sharpening iron is what that is. We are supposed to encourage each other to clean up our lives and focus solely on Christ. Great post, my friend.

How true Alene! If we have sought cleansing in our lives, we are usually more open and eager for what God has for us. It opens the door for God to do something new in and through us. You may have a new thing coming. Maybe you will be catching more fish and sharing the joy. b

I always feel better when my home is uncluttered. I don't really care about it being clean just neat. I find this is also true in my spiritual life but I also find I not only neglect it more often but it seems harder to tidy up sometimes. As usual, still working on it! :)

So true Alene! The more I declutter my home, the better I feel in every way. I also noticed that when I get rid of things I don't use, God brings new or different things in that I need.

I get moody if anything in my life gets behind. That's why I try to stay on top of things. When I haven't worked out, haven't cleaned my house, haven't done my quiet time, it shows!!!
I'm with ya sista!!! Let's clean house!
