Have you ever had a situation arise where something someone did just nags at you? You question it, you ponder over it. Maybe that something is neither right nor wrong, but their response just eats at you. I’ve been in such a place for a few weeks now — questioning my own nagging thoughts.
As I’ve struggled with these feelings, I’ve learned a lot about myself. I’ve realized that it wasn’t the “someone” that had a problem, but it was me. I’ve seen an area of my heart that has grown cold.
“People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.” Proverbs 21:2 NLT
It’s amazing what we learn about ourselves when we slow down to examine the stirrings in our heart. It’s not always a pleasant experience, but definitely a growing one.
Are you struggling and questioning something? The answer lies within your own heart. Examine it.
