What’s broken in your house right now? The dryer? The front door knob?
What’s broken in your heart? The rules you can’t keep? The pain you can’t mend?
What’s broken in your family? A child? Your sex life? Your relationship with a parent?
What’s broken at work? At church? At school?
Life is broken.
We all contribute to the mess – accidentally and on purpose.
Buildings collapse. Families fall apart. Churches split.
Cancer erodes. Depression implodes. Darkness envelopes.
Life.
Happens.
Every single moment of every single day.
And it’s not the avoidance and denial of these moments that cause the world to be better – but rather –
it’s the God who holds the moments – the broken and the whole – and what we surrender over to Him to use – He makes the world more fully alive.
When we break – or something in our lives is broken by someone else – are we hiding it? Are we shoving it under the rug? Are we walking around it – avoiding it like the shattered vase on the ground?
Or are we giving it to Him?
Painful as it may be – are we allowing Him to reshape it for His purposes?
From “It is Finished” (Chapter 1):
“There is amazing power living in a conscious/aware state of mind rather than merely living in the unconscious or sleeping state of mind.
‘Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’ (Eph. 3:14).
Being authentic brings you to a place where you hear from God – you stop living in your head where the lies live and start living in your heart where the Spirit of the Living God is present.”
Stop hiding and holding onto the pieces yourself. Let Him in – and watch Him work. He can handle all the brokenness of humanity. In fact, He already did. One time. For all time. For all of us. At the cross. It is Finished!
Live there.
And when you think what’s broken can’t be mended or made whole again – think again – on His promises – not on your circumstance – not on what you see.
Think on what He said.
From “It is Finished” (Chapter 2):
“You get to believe the truth about how God sees you and know His promises deep in your heart so that when the enemy shows up throwing lies, and hate and trouble come your way, you can stand on His Word.
‘God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way.’ Ephesians 6:11-12”MSG
Everything broken can be made whole. Not in the way that you might think. Not in the way that you might mend it.
But rather – in His ways – in His Immeasurable Grace and in His Infinite Wisdom.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.”
If today, you could ask God to fix one broken piece of your life – what would that be? And what step will you take today to walk in His truth, knowing His Wholeness can be found even when…? COMMENTS shared will be replied to with gratitude.
