Are you longing for a word from God? Maybe you’re needing a specific answer or clarification, but it seems the noise of the American world is all your ears are tuned in to.
I’ve been there. It’s actually a frustrating place to be. You feel like you are drowning while waiting on God to speak and bring life-saving peace. It wasn’t until I got so sick of my situation that I got refocused on hearing from God.
When you get desperate enough for a Word you will make the changes necessary to hear from God.
Listen in to this week’s episode and get refocused on hearing from God.

4 P Steps to Better Hear from God
1. Prioritize
If you do not make hearing from God a priority in your life, you will not be able to hear above life’s noises.
Determine above all you want to hear from God.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Until you make hearing from God a priority, your ears will only hear the distractions of the world. [tweet that, eh?]
Prioritize God in your calendar. What time works best for you?
2. Position or Place
What place is most free of distraction for you? Your office, bedroom, a comfy chair in the living area, or the kitchen table.
Luke 5:16 “Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”
In this season of your life are their less distractions in the early hours or evening hours?
3. Plan
Be intentional about figuring out a plan that works for you.
What will help you stay focused on listening? highlighters, colored pencils, journals
What translation of the Bible is easiest for you to read?
4. Pray
Psalm 5:3 “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
Prayer is communication — there’s time for talking and time for listening.

Susan Rinehart Stilwell says
It makes such a difference to carve out that time every day. I’m usually an early riser, so that’s the best time for me. But my summer has turned upside down, so I’m working hard to give myself some grace and leeway when it’s lunchtime and I sit down to pray. Good stuff here, Alene :)
