Monday I posted a devotional over here. Those written words have spoken to me all week. It has been a wild, chaotic few days (Don’t those seem to come more often these days?) and my heart is burning with the words, “Come to the quiet.”
A few evenings ago, I headed to the bay front with my camera in hand and there was something about this bench that kept calling out, “Draw near to me.” The lone bench, sitting on the bay with no one around, seemed to be calling my name. Of course, I knew it was God speaking to the very depths of my heart beckoning me to meet with Him.
I snapped a few pictures and I’m so glad I did. The visual I’ve had this week has been a great reminder to be purposeful in making that time to sneak away, come to the quiet and draw nearer to God.
What does the picture speak to you?
The Living the Life women’s conference in Corpus Christi, TX is this weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing friends from all over south Texas and to be sharing with the gals on Friday night. You’ll never guess what the theme verse for the weekend is?
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you . . .”
James 4:8 NKJV
Ooh gotta go – it’s time I sneak away and draw near to Him who is calling.

Alene!…I love this!! I have been feeling that very same 'pull' from the Lord, knowing very well that I need to make the time amidst the busyness and chaos of everyday life, to sneak away and draw near to Him. Oh how I love to moments alone with our Father…and there is just something about being alone with Him in nature, isn't there?!!?
Have a blessed day and thanks for sharing!! <><
Hugs,
Tanya

Alene, wonderful blog! I am excited that you commented on mine. Yes, we attend BAF! In fact, I attend the bible studies for women there. You look like a totally amazing teacher/speaker. I wish I was free on Tuesdays to take yours and get to know how you are so spiritual while being involved with the military. I find it hard myself sometimes. You are truly an inspiration to many people it seems and I have heard nothing but amazing things about you. I look forward to reading your blog and getting to know you.

Life is getting busier and I thought getting older I would be slowing down:)
God's been speaking to my heart about my quiet time with Him and now your post…I better start listening.
You got the look, love your blog!

Love that photo, Alene!!!
Right now when I think of quiet, all I can think of is my kids sleeping. That is literally the ONLY time I get quiet.
I know this season is so short, though, and I do love being a mom of small kids.
I've learned to manage my time so well that when my kids start school, I'll hopefully have more quiet time.
We'll see…
You are the BOMB! Beautiful Online Ministry Babe!
