Do you ever find yourself trying to measure up to everyone else’s expectations?
I’m continually amazed at how I let the world’s demands influence my being, schedule, and thoughts. It’s so easy to get caught up wondering what everyone else thinks. And those thoughts stop me dead in my tracks.
Learning to be me is a struggle. It’s a process. It takes continually being aware of what is rolling around in my head. Conquering the wrong thinking and replacing it with the Truth.
Today if you’re battling those thoughts in your head, I leave you with some “beautiful” thoughts. God made you beautiful. Your strengths are beautiful. Your art is beautiful.
Don’t be afraid to be you and live it out.
Here’s a video that makes me smile everytime I watch. The words by Group 1 Crew are awesome. But I love watching my daughter be herself. She didn’t care who was walking by or what they were saying as she danced her heart out downtown. She was lost expressing herself with her life’s art and it was . . . .
Beautiful!

Are you continually worrying about what everyone else thinks?
You’ll never be able to step out, dance, sing, paint, serve, and love with passion while your thoughts are on what others think. Live for only one Audience, the only One that matters.
Today, go out and dance in the streets, sing at the top of your lungs and . . .
Don’t be afraid to be you because God made you just that special!

When I read about the spiritual gifts He placed in me an the love language He gave me – it liberated me to be me because then I understood why I was the way I was and the beauty of it!

BTW – your daughter is courageous and beautiful!

Love, love, love this thought: “You’ll never be able to step out, dance, sing, paint, serve, and love with passion while your thoughts are on what others think. Live for only one Audience, the only One that matters.”
I love way too long concerned about what others thought more than I was about what Jesus thought of me! Sad, but true. So thankful He has matured my thinking and helped me see things through His eyes.
Great post, my friend!

She’s your daughter? She is definitely beautiful. I love how she has the confidence to embrace and share her God given talent.

“Don’t be afraid to be you because God made you just that special!” Amen!! What an awesome post and incredible example your daughter illustrated for us. Thanks to both of you!

I think the younger generation finds it easier to be who they are. Maybe not easier, but are more willing to embrace themselves. Loved seeing your daughter “be herself.”

That’s your daughter, how awesome is that. She did a great job. I use to worry and wanted to appear perfect for everyone. I don’t worry about that like I use to.
