Yesterday was a sad day for me, but an amazing day for my daddy. He has gone to walk the streets of gold with Jesus. This day has made me realize the importance of living my life to the fullest and on purpose.
Our lives are but a breath and there’s no greater reminder of that than the loss of a loved one. My daddy worked diligently. He loved his family to the fullest. He served God. And he laughed and played hard. He was the most generous man you’d ever meet. And he always made you feel like you could do anything and you were the most important person in the world. He truly was a great example of a life lived on purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3:9-14 sums up the way my daddy saw life:
What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him.
Life’s but a breath, live out every moment with purpose, passion, joy, generosity and laughter.
Thank you, Daddy, for all the sweet lessons about life that you taught me.

God bless you my friend. Our Daddys are such special people in our lives. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my Daddy and miss him so much…even after 7 years (October 29, 2004). Love you, girl.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Although I know you rejoice to know where your father is, I also know you will miss him in the right here and right now. I lost my father when I was 18…and I cannot wait until I see him again someday!
Praying for you and your family as you cling to the Heavenly Father!
