Oh my – it’s already November! Do you know it is only 57 days until January 1st?
Before I left for Canada, I pulled out my 2008 goals for a check-up. I know what you are thinking – Hmmm, I don’t even know where my 2008 goals are. That’s usually what I say come November, but not this year. I’ve kept them handy and spent time reviewing them quarterly.
It’s amazing what focus can do. Looking over those goals I quickly noticed that there were some I was still far from accomplishing, but it was so awesome to see the ones listed that I actually DID accomplish. Woo hoo!
Have you started thinking about 2009 and what you’d like to accomplish? Start dreaming. Start making notes. Start getting prepared. I’m one of those runners who has to psych myself up to run for a LONG while before I begin the race. I’m preparing now and looking forward to what God puts on my heart in the next 57 days to run towards in 2009.
I know leadership will be part of my learning process for 2009. I’m finishing up reading The 360 Degree Leader by John C. Maxwell and I’ll share thoughts later. Incredible book!
Today though, I am catching up! It’s always great to get away, but the catch up time when you come home is never fun. I loved my time away with hubby! Five days in Canada was just right. Coming home to south Texas to unthaw was even better. Just making it home was an answer to prayer. Ask me how I traveled out of the country with no passport!
Here’s a couple of pics! Words would not even describe the beauty of that part of the country. God is so amazing, creative and artistic! God didn’t put these colors here in south Texas. This is the beautiful country side of the Niagara River.

Welcome back Alene! I’m so glad you and hubby had a good time and made it home safely… and without a passport!? I’m sure there will be a blog about that right?
Love the photos!

Alene,
I’m so glad you had a great time away with your hubby. I am learning how important it can be.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures.
And I agree with Edie ~ there must be a lesson in the passport thing?!
Blessings, Cindy

I love the seeing the colors, the rainbow and the bride. Great reminder to reflect on the things in 2008 we planned to accomplish. I feel kind of stuck in today…the election and what this means for American in 2009. I better keep my eyes on the Lord. The world is still in His hands.

Alene,
What beautiful pictures!
Making a list for 2009 is a good idea,I think I’ll run along side you.
Our abortion recovery ministry are at the beginning stages to putting a DVD together. I wanted to have something that I could send to pastors,so they could see the need for this program.
Oh,guess I have already started my list. :)
The Falls are amazing,I have a older sister who lives about 30 minutes away, its about a 5 to 6 hour drive for us.

I’m glad you got to see the Falls. I don’t think I’ll ever forget our visit there. I didn’t get to go into Canada. :( Maybe if there is a next time.
Two places I think everyone needs to go…Niagara Falls and Washington D.C. Just my opinion.
Thanks for sharing your way with goals. I’ve always had problems in that area. Maybe in 2009 I’ll try again.
